About The Position

The Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach a 4-credit course on the History of Design for the Spring 2025 semester. This course is aimed at Interior and Industrial Design students and will explore the global history of designed goods and industrial design from 1600 to the present, with a focus on the twentieth century. The position is part-time and requires prior teaching experience.

Requirements

• A Masters in Fine Arts or a graduate degree in history or design.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach the History of Design course scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11:45am.
• Utilize the Museum of Fine Arts as a study collection for the course.
• Survey the global history of designed goods and design for industry from 1600 to the present.
• Emphasize styles, methods of production, and trends in trade and consumerism.
