About The Position

Gettysburg College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach an upper-level undergraduate course in Cardiorespiratory Physiology during the Fall 2025 semester. The course is an in-depth study of the structure and function of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems with special attention given to the integrated function of the two systems, both in normal and pathological states. The course is designed for students who have completed the introductory anatomy and physiology sequence and are prepared for more advanced study. The course is scheduled to meet two nights per week in person on our campus in Gettysburg, PA.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. biology, physiology, exercise science)
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
  • Strong knowledge of cardiorespiratory physiology and anatomy
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to students
  • Familiarity with course management software and learning management systems

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course as scheduled
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, discussions, and other course materials
  • Assess student learning and understanding through various assignments and evaluations
  • Provide support and guidance to students as needed
