About The Position

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks to create a pool of adjunct faculty to teach Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab courses on an as-needed basis. Adjunct faculty in the Health Sciences program are responsible for teaching undergraduate students in the classroom and/or lab setting. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in an engaging and supportive manner. This includes teaching didactic and/or lab courses as assigned, by accreditation standards, institutional policies, and program objectives. There may be professional development anticipated should the modality of teaching be online.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Demonstrated current competence in assigned course content
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral Degree
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Utilizes effective strategies to foster student involvement and participation in learning.
  • Adheres to program schedules and deadlines in managing course-related tasks.
  • Presents educational material in a clear, comprehensive manner.
  • Encourages and guides student participation in various educational exercises.
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently using established rubrics and criteria, including timely submission of grades for assignments, midterm, and final
  • Supervise and assess students in lab settings, ensuring safe and effective practices when applicable
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Participate in course and curriculum development, and/or program assessment under the guidance of the Program Director/Department Chair.
  • Support the mission and goals of the College and the institution.
  • Remain current in the content through continuing education and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, teaching requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Attend faculty meetings and training sessions as required.
