About The Position

The Department of Finance of the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota invites applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of potential adjunct instructors. Adjunct appointments are without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments. Adjunct instructors may be hired as needed to teach one or multiple classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is for a pooled, adjunct faculty position for continuous recruitment. Review of candidates is typically done three times annually – spring, summer and fall. Salary range: $3,951-$5,065 per course (1.5 and 2-credit courses) $5,977-$7,598 per course (3 and 4-credit courses) As an adjunct faculty member in the Finance Department, your primary responsibility will be to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses. The department offers a variety of courses in finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We welcome candidates with expertise in all areas of finance, including Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, Investments, Security Analysis, Investment Management, Derivatives, Fixed-income Securities, Financial Markets and Institutions, International Finance, Financial Planning and Advising, Financial Modeling and Analysis, Investment Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions, Financial Technology (FinTech), Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Finance, Programming Applications in Finance (Such as Python and R), Sustainable Finance and Investments, and other finance courses as needed. Faculty may be required to teach utilizing face-to-face, blended, or online delivery modes. The classes are held during both daytime and evening hours. The Opus College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. Requirements

  • master’s degree in business or finance, or a discipline related to the teaching specialty (MBA, MS)
  • significant relevant industry experience
  • demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching
  • willingness to be flexible in class scheduling

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or equivalent in finance or a discipline related to the teaching specialty
  • professional qualifications such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
  • prior experience teaching courses in finance at the undergraduate or graduate levels
