About The Position

Lasell University's School of Fashion is looking for a new adjunct to teach our Fashion Styling course to undergraduate students. Fashion Styling is an immersive course designed to equip fashion content creators, stylists, and event planners with a deep understanding of the conventions and visual traditions in fashion styling. Students explore lighting techniques, visual identity, makeup application, brand influences, and hands-on styling through regular photo shoots. The course also offers a lens into styling for various events and venues. Industry applicants are strongly recommended to apply.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, MFA or MBA in Fashion, Visual Arts, or related field
  • Professional experience in fashion styling or fashion marketing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lighting principles and fashion photography conventions as well as the use of styling for events
  • Experience with photo shoot planning and execution
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience at the college level preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and facilitating all aspects of the Fashion Styling course.
  • Delivering engaging lectures and demonstrations on lighting, mood creation, and styling techniques.
  • Guiding students through the history and evolution of fashion stylists.
  • Connecting marketing principles to visual styling decisions.
  • Organizing and supervising regular styling events, ensuring students gain practical experience.
  • Evaluating student work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborating with department faculty to align course outcomes with program goals.
