College of DuPage believes in the power of teaching and learning. We seek adjunct faculty members to teach Eye Care Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician Program. Requirements

  • AAS Degree as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred from a formal accredited program or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in Ophthalmology hospital system or clinic as a COA, COT, or COMT.
  • Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) Certification of Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) is required.
  • Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred.
  • Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate ability to teach online required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings.
  • Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats.
  • Responsible for student evaluation.
  • Timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
