About The Position

The Adjunct Faculty position in Engineering Design Technology-Construction Supervision at Lone Star College involves providing learning activities and support to achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment. The faculty member is responsible for planning, developing, and teaching courses, with a focus on student learning. This part-time role is contingent upon the needs of the college and may involve teaching day, evening, and weekend classes. The adjunct faculty may teach a maximum of five classes per academic year.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in engineering graphics, drafting technology, or computer-aided design in the structural, civil, or architectural fields and minimum 3 years work experience in the field.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in architecture or structural/civil engineering or engineering technology or construction management and minimum 3 years work experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches Engineering Technology (CNBT 1342) courses at various times and locations.
  • Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
  • Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment.
  • Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives.
  • Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
