About The Position

EDAD 7581: Systems Leadership An adjunct faculty member is needed to teach EDAD 7581, systems leadership. This is a doctoral leverl course which focuses on the ability to create shared ownership for a district-wide vision based on success for all students. The goal is to give those preparing for district leadership position an understanding of systems thinking, continuous program improvement, and the alignment of elements into a coherent district-wide management and accountability plan. A personal set of leadership skills will be developed for use in administration. Adjunct educators are hired on a contractual, part-time basis, for specified quarters throughout an academic year. Duties include developing syllabi and assignments, teaching classes and assessing student performance.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Education, or
  • Terminal degree in related field, or excellent instructional skills
  • Terminal degree in another field with heavy emphasis on writing
  • A personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.
  • A comfortability discussing the intersection of faith and writing with students
