About The Position

This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position in the Department of Liberal Arts & Sciences, located College-Wide. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. The position involves teaching courses in Early Childhood Education, preparing and delivering learning activities, evaluating and grading students' work, maintaining attendance records, and being available for student coaching. The work schedule will be determined based on business unit needs, with classes potentially offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Master's degree in Education with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience with children under 5 years old.
• Experience in working with and teaching adults.
• Post-secondary teaching experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).
• Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
• Appropriately responds to the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in Early Childhood Education.
• Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes.
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
• Be available to students for coaching.
• Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development.

Benefits

• Part-time faculty position with a set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU).
