About The Position

Adjunct Faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester, as-needed basis. Faculty deliver instruction using a common syllabus and approved curriculum while supporting Ivy Tech’s mission of open access, workforce development, and community engagement. Requirements

  • Didactic instruction: Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Clinical or laboratory instruction: Associate degree or higher
  • Graduation from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene or dental program, as applicable
  • Current subject-matter expertise and appropriate clinical experience
  • Must meet applicable state dental or dental hygiene practice act requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in higher education or clinical education
  • Experience with instructional technology or distance education

Responsibilities

  • Deliver didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in accordance with CODA Standards, Ivy Tech policies, and course objectives
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including the course map, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with the Dental Hygiene curriculum
  • Use effective, adult learner-centered teaching strategies and instructional technology to promote student success
  • Maintain accurate student records and required documentation
  • Engage professionally with students and colleagues and participate in required meetings and calibration activities
  • Comply with college policies, FERPA, and safety and emergency procedures
