About The Position

Harrisburg University is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Data Science and Analytics program. This role requires on-site teaching 2 weekends per semester. The Master's of Analytics program offers a strong foundation in the effective and responsible use of data for decision making, along with real-world applications using state-of-the-art modeling. The doctoral program in Data Science allows students to blend scientific research with practical applications, tackling real-world problems across various domains such as healthcare, public policy, supply chain, and AI. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and scientific principles, covering topics like Statistical Thinking, Ethics for Analytics and AI, Advanced Data Handling, and Effective Data Communication. Faculty members come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, contributing to a multicultural community.

Requirements

• PhD (or equivalent) in a data-driven field such as Data Science, Computational Social Sciences, Quantitative Economics or Finance, or Applied Statistics.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and ability to engage with students.
• Experience in leading applied projects and mentoring graduate student research.
• Evidence of research skills and experience with academic publishing or research report writing.
• Expert-level knowledge in areas such as Marketing, Time-Series/Forecasting, Finance, Health/Medical Analytics, Computer Vision, NLP/LLMs, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, or Spatial Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Data Science and Analytics.
• Engage with students and foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Supervise interdisciplinary projects and mentor graduate student research.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program improvement.
