This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates for teaching programming courses in C, C++, Java, and Intel assembly language from basic to intermediate levels. All courses except assembly language will be taught in a Unix-like environment. The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application can remain 'Under Review by Committee' for 18 months. You may check your status at any time by logging into jobs.harpercollege.edu with your username and password.

  • Teach programming courses in C, C++, Java, and Intel assembly language.
  • Deliver instruction from basic to intermediate levels.
  • Utilize a Unix-like environment for teaching courses (except assembly language).
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 18 semester hours in graduate-level computer science or related courses.
  • C++ and *nix experience required.
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Java experience is a plus.
  • Online teaching experience beneficial.
  • Face-to-face teaching might be required for particular classes.
  • Competitive, semester by semester adjunct pay.
