The Creative Writing Program seeks applicants to teach one of our two introductory courses, CW110 Narrative in Prose and CW120 Form in Poetry. These courses are taken by creative writing majors and minors, as well as by non-majors in fulfillment of the University's general-education Creative Arts requirement. CW110 Narrative in Prose: involves "guiding students on a critical study of the elements of narrative structure and design in fiction and nonfiction, such as character development, point of view, tone, setting, plotting, and time management." CW120 Form in Poetry: a critical and creative study of the notion of form in poetry, including essential received forms and the presence of form as evidenced in more nuanced aspects of patterns and shifts. Readings will include some of the oldest poems we know, some of the most recently published, and much in between.
