MICA seeks a dedicated educator and entrepreneur with professional experience to serve as a part-time faculty member. The ideal candidate will be well versed in business applications across a variety of professional creative practices. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about the future of creative entrepreneurship and its potential within the fields of fine arts and design. Preferred candidates will have experience developing student-centered programs, hands-on pedagogical approaches, and research and material practices relevant to art and design students, faculty, and a community population rich in diversity across race, ethnicity, gender, culture, physical ability, and class. The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach courses offered in its Creative Entrepreneurship minor on an ongoing basis. MICA is a private art and design college nationally known for the high quality of its undergraduate and graduate programs, its dedication to student learning and teaching excellence, and its distinction in fine art and design at national and international levels. Additionally, MICA is dedicated to delivering Creative Entrepreneurship to students through various courses in undergraduate majors, minors, graduate majors. MICA is also home to the The Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship. RCCE was established in 2020 to substantially expand the MICA ’ s support for its creative thinkers and innovators through co-curricular offerings and to expand access to business skill development for all students, no matter their major course of study. General purpose of this position: To provide instruction for students enrolled in Creative Entrepreneurship courses covering a range of business topics as applied in numerous professional creative practices. Adjunct faculty are encouraged to incorporate professional, global and diverse perspectives into lectures, assignments, and course projects. Adjunct faculty work directly with the Faculty Lead of Creative Entrepreneurship who establishes the course descriptions, learning objectives, and standardizes rubrics and syllabi. They also collaborate and coordinate with Faculty Lead, Creative Entrepreneurship and other MICA faculty. Courses generally meet once a week
