SUMMARY: Clinical Mental Health Counseling adjunct faculty are responsible for instructing and facilitating meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively supporting all facets of the learning environment adhering to South University’s mission and CACREP standards. This role promotes a student-centered learning environment that prepares graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. Faculty are expected to foster a culture that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity, and ethics as well as personal and professional development. KEY JOB ELEMENTS: Provides competency-based education which aligns with the South University model of curricula as well as supports the South University style of system delivery in keeping with CACREP standards.Designs and delivers instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet knowledge and skills-based course outcomes, the development of activities that support lesson objectives, and for online courses, deliver the instruction as approved within each course shell.Effectively utilizes technology in the classroom to support the student learning experience. Enables the achievement of pre-defined KPI outcomes for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction that fosters proficiency and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation.Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing an educational environment conducive to learning and student involvement and effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching and students, and engaging students in the learning process.Manages the educational environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies consistent with the CMHC program, school, campus, or online division. Relates professional clinical experience to learning by continuing professional knowledge and skills development, the introduction of varied therapeutic approaches into courses, and the active awareness of counseling trends and opportunities. Participates in the faculty development process to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities in learner-centered instruction.Communicates consistently and effectively with supervisor(s), faculty, and other South University administrators.
