About The Position

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach day, evening and/or online classes for the Department of Computer Science. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department. Your application will remain in the pool until the posting closes. If you wish to be considered for positions beyond that date, then you must reapply.

Requirements

• Hold an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Have significant practical experience in the relevant area.
• Possess successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
• Ability to teach in other areas is valued.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on campus, off campus in a corporate setting, or online.
• Integrate into related activities at WPI with teaching assignments matched with the background and availability of the applicant.
• Focus on areas such as Foundations of Computer Science, Algorithms, Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Design, Interface Design, and Artificial Intelligence.
• Teach introductory computer science courses emphasizing program design using languages such as Racket/Scheme, Python, Java, and C/C++.
