About The Position

This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position in the Department of Advanced Manufacturing & Computer Science. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. The position involves teaching a variety of courses in networking and networking hardware, software, security, and administration. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering learning activities, course materials, evaluating student work, maintaining attendance records, and being available for student coaching. Meetings with supervisors and the division will occur periodically regarding teaching duties and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Networking, Business, Education, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years industry/business experience in computer technology
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
• Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Appropriately responds to the needs of the community

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience
• Experience using a learning management system to deliver distance learning courses
• Current computer industry certification in one of the following areas: networking, security office applications, and/or database

Responsibilities

• Teaches a variety of courses including but not limited to: specific courses in networking and networking hardware, software, security and administration
• Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
• Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
• Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
• Be available to students for coaching
• Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development

Benefits

• Part-Time Faculty position with a set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
• Employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check and drug screen
