About The Position

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. This position involves facilitating student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. Responsibilities include making optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods, developing and maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials, and maintaining accurate student records and grades. Faculty are expected to engage with students in meaningful ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College. They must also interact with students and co-workers in a professional manner, comply with College policies, and ensure knowledge of emergency and safety procedures for classrooms and labs. This is not an exhaustive list, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a computer-related degree appropriate to the course being taught.
  • OR possesses a related or out-of-field master’s degree with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses in a computer, business, mathematics, or engineering-related field.
  • OR possesses a bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, or business/computer related field with documentation in two or more areas of professional certification, two years of in-field professional employment, documented evidence of teaching excellence, research and publication in the field, or relevant additional coursework.
  • Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by students and employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of in-field professional experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating system.
  • Current CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+ certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of virtualization.
