About The Position

Austin Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Composition & Literary Studies (Dual Credit) to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging and innovative ways. This position primarily involves teaching Dual Credit courses that meet in-person on high school campuses, focusing on student success and creating an inclusive environment. Faculty are expected to meet professional standards in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Rhetoric, Creative Writing, or a related field.
  • 18 graduate hours in the relevant disciplines if holding a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications and online learning management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach courses in Composition and Literary Studies to a multicultural student population.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community college students.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students without discrimination.
  • Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Department Chair or other administrators.
