About The Position

The position is for an Adjunct Instructor in the Corporate College department of Workforce & Economic Development at SLCC. The instructor will conduct theoretical and technical training classes for commercial vehicles, focusing on both A and B Commercial Motor Vehicles. The role involves using established training materials to present formal class training exercises and lab work, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The instructor will provide hands-on training in advanced applications, vehicle inspection, skill maneuvers, and road driving skills, while also maintaining office hours for student consultations and preparing course syllabi and instructional materials.

Requirements

• Clean MVR for past 7 plus years.
• Minimum of 7 years verifiable driving experience in related fields.
• Current CDL License, Class A.

Responsibilities

• Conducts theoretical and technical training classes for commercial vehicles.
• Uses established training materials to present formal class training exercises and lab work.
• Provides training in policy and procedures in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Prepares students to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Provides hands-on training in advanced applications, training, and testing preparations.
• Maintains office hours for student consultations.
• Prepares and provides course syllabi and instructional materials to students.
• Evaluates and reviews students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Keeps appropriate records of testing and grading, as per college standards.
• Utilizes technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and facilitate learning.
• Maintains student discipline through effective classroom management.
• Attains, maintains, and reviews program certification requirements.
• Fulfills professional assignments in accordance with the college calendar and contractual obligations.
• Partners with Business and Industry to promote the CDL program.
