About The Position
Adjunct faculty within the University of Massachusetts Global’s School of Education play a vital role in delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction in an online learning environment. They bring real-world expertise and a commitment to fostering academic excellence for future educators and leaders. Adjunct instructors must be willing to engage with faculty, students, and other stakeholders to ensure well-rounded, rigorous learning experiences that offer students the highest levels of support. This position requires a California teaching credential and current California Pk-8 public school teaching experience.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or Higher in Education, Teaching and/or, Related Field
- California (CA) Clear Multiple Subject Credential
- English Language Learner Authorization
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience in a California elementary (PK-8) school.
- Experience teaching diverse student populations.
Nice To Haves
- Doctoral degree in education or an educational related field.
- CA Administrative Credential.
- Trained assessor of or extensive knowledge of CalTPAs.
- Three years’ experience mentoring or supervising students or candidates.
- Three years’ experience using specific educational tools such as Go React and Rise Modules.
- Resides in the state of California.
Responsibilities
- Teaching duties, mentoring, or supervising students.
- Preparing and delivering course content or assessments.
- Collaborating with faculty or staff for curriculum planning.
- Utilizing specific technologies or tools (e.g., LMS, video platforms).
- Attending required meetings, training, or development sessions.
- Holding virtual, weekly, open office hours for students.
- Engaging in program review and assessment activities as needed.
- Participating in calibration meetings relating to PLOs, CLOs, and Professional Dispositions.
- Supporting students as they progress towards mastering their CalTPAs.
- Engaging in required student support strategies and alignment to our SOE Culture of Care mission and vision.
