About The Position

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Requirements

  • Must have a strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction.
  • Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, business education, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 post-secondary semester /27 quarter credit hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: in-field national, regional, or state professional certification, three years of in-field professional employment in the industry, documentation of research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree.
  • Possesses an earned bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: professional certification in business related field, three years of in-field professional employment in a business-related field, documented evidence of teaching excellence, documentation of research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submit requested information within established timelines.
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
  • In the event of an emergency absence, notify the program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
