About The Position

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member in Business Administration to facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. The position is part-time and reports to the Department/Program Chair. The college is committed to providing an open-access education that fuels Indiana’s economy through excellence in teaching and proactive engagement with industry and community partners. The faculty member will engage with students proactively and regularly, maintain accurate student records, and demonstrate effective teaching strategies focused on engaging online students.

Requirements

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration or a related field.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree with documented 18 post-secondary semester/27 quarter credit hours in business administration or a related field.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree with documentation of in-field national, regional, or state professional certification.
  • Three years of in-field professional employment in the industry.
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field.
  • Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field with professional certification and three years of in-field professional employment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
  • Promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by students and employees.
