About The Position

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

Requirements

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, business education, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, with documented 18 post-secondary semester /27 quarter credit hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field.
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, with documentation in two or more of the following: In-field national, regional, or state professional certification, three years of in-field professional employment in the industry, documentation of research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree.
  • Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification in business related field, three years of in-field professional employment in business related field, documented evidence of teaching excellence, documentation of research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other reporting requirements within established timelines.
  • Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging in person and hybrid students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
  • Use technology such as IvyLearn (Canvas), Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notifies Program/Department Chair, and Dean.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
