About The Position

The Biological and Chemical Sciences department at Manhattan University offers personalized learning experience with small class sizes with dedicated faculty who are committed to teaching. The department emphasizes hands-on learning in the labs and offers all students the opportunity to do one-on-one research with a faculty member. Students are able to pursue their passions, prepare for graduate school and most importantly make a difference in the world. The Biology Department seeks part-time, adjunct faculty to teach in-person lecture or laboratory classes for general/introductory biology courses for majors and/or non-majors. Faculty are expected to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction that supports student success in foundational biological sciences.

Requirements

  • Masters degree required, Ph.D. (preferred) in biology or related field
  • At least one year of teaching experience
  • Candidates with a proven record of excellence in teaching will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching biology lecture and/or lab courses, based on need.
  • Deliver engaging and informative biology lectures.
  • Conduct laboratory sessions to supplement theoretical coursework.
  • Prepare course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback on student progress and assignments.

Benefits

  • Salary based on experience: Instructor $4,431.83 per 3-credit lecture per semester, Assistant Professor $4,578.76, Associate Professor $4,726.94, Professor $4,875.13.
