The mission of the Ballard Center for Social Impact is to develop the faith and skills to solve social problems. Our primary methodology for achieving this aim is through mentored student leadership. Through research, education, and practical experience, we empower students to leverage their diverse skills and insights to address pressing social problems. Social Impact Projects (SIP) MSB 492R is an on-campus internship program and 3-credit-hour class that empowers students to work in small teams on innovative projects for best-practice social impact organizations domestically and globally. This course is designed to give students a practical experience interning and problem-solving with social innovation practitioners and their organizations across the nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors. The internship is supported and enhanced by classwork that highlights methods and theories in social impact, project management, internship implementation, and problem-solving with social innovation practitioners and their organizations. We are seeking a highly motivated and capable individual to oversee the instruction of the SIP class and the management and coordination of the internship student teams. This person should be enthusiastic and well-versed in social impact work and empowering students to create value in partnerships with organizations wanting to make positive changes. The SIP faculty play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and impact of these projects by providing instruction, guidance, and support to a variety of student teams. They will work closely with the Ballard Center student SIP leadership team to maintain and refine processes that enhance the efficiency and value of the class for teams and partners.
