About The Position

The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment is seeking a part-time faculty (professional) tutor to support the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program within the School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics. Tutors will offer academic support for didactic and laboratory course work in an in-person and/or virtual format.

Requirements

Must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree
Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

Nice To Haves

2-3 years of work experience in General Sonography – Abdomen and OB/GYN

Responsibilities

Assist students enrolled in didactic coursework with content acquisition and application, critical thinking, and clinical skill development as it related to learning outcomes for the courses.
Offer tutoring session availability in an in-person and/or online/virtual format.
Must be registered in Abdomen and OB/GYN through the ARDMS. Other specialties a plus.
Collaborate with the applicable course instructor to determine plan of action for specific student.
Provide feedback to student specific to progression in subject matter.
Uses the University’s learning management and scheduling system to communicate with students and document sessions
Provide feedback to the program director as to student progress.
Provides engaging activities during sessions that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.
