Sullivan University is seeking a dedicated and passionate Adjunct Culinary Instructor to join our team at the Louisville Campus. This part-time position is designed for individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of students through effective teaching and mentorship. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, with the ability to apply formal culinary education in a classroom setting. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating student learning in various environments, including face-to-face, online, hybrid, and HyFlex formats. You will engage students using innovative instructional techniques such as collaborative and experiential learning, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered effectively and is relevant to their future careers. As an Adjunct Culinary Instructor, you will assess student learning outcomes, provide timely feedback on assignments, and maintain open communication with students regarding their progress. You will also participate in course and program-level assessments, helping to define learning outcomes and suggesting improvements to enhance student success. Your responsibilities will include scheduling and supervising students in practical settings, such as externships and field experiences, and actively participating in student retention efforts by reaching out to those with excessive absences. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to travel to multiple locations as needed. The Adjunct Culinary Instructor will report to the Dean and may have additional reporting responsibilities to the Department Chair or Program Director. This role is essential in fostering a positive and diverse learning environment that supports the academic and professional growth of our students.
