About The Position

The Communications Adjunct will develop/adapt the standard syllabus, content, and activities in conjunction with current COMM instructors under the direction of the Liberal Arts Program Coordinator. The adjunct will be available to teach on-campus COMM courses at the Headquarters or Tech Center campus as needed based on enrollment. The COMM adjunct will teach face-to-face daytime and/or evening COMM courses at the BRCTC Headquarters and/or Tech Center campus as needed.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in COMM or 18 master's level (or above) credits in COMM coursework.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching at the high school or college level.
• Comfortable utilizing course-related and LMS technology.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching professional communication or a similar course at the high school or college level.
• Experience using an online learning management system, preferably Blackboard or Blackboard Ultra.

Responsibilities

• Develop/adapt the standard syllabus, content, and activities for COMM courses.
• Teach face-to-face daytime and/or evening COMM courses at the Headquarters or Tech Center campus as needed.
• Establish a sense of community with students in the classroom.
• Inspire students to develop their professional communication skills.
• Respond to student requests for assistance in a timely manner, typically within 24 hours.
• Navigate the online platform that complements the classroom experience.
