About The Position

Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Division of Nursing, located at the health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, seeks applicants for Adjunct Clinical Instructors for the undergraduate and graduate programs. Specialty areas for undergraduate programs include: medical-surgical, geriatrics, maternal-child health, mental health, leadership/management and/or pediatrics. Specialty areas for the graduate program include: (advanced practice nursing in pediatrics, gerontology or primary care). These positions are part-time, non-tenure track faculty positions with an anticipated start date of August 2025 for the Fall 2025 semester, renewable annually. Successful candidates will possess strong teaching and evaluation skills. We are seeking multi-disciplined applicants with expertise in a variety of the areas listed above with the option of teaching one or more courses.

Requirements

  • Qualified applicants for the undergraduate program must hold a minimum of a master's degree in nursing or a health-related field
  • Applicants with a baccalaureate degree and matriculated in a master's program may be considered depending on experience
  • Applicants must have a current unencumbered license to practice in New York or Pennsylvania
  • Qualified applicants for the graduate nursing program must hold a minimum of a DNP or PhD in a health-related field with preference given to those who are nationally certified as an advanced practice nurse and licensed as an APRN in New York State

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and guidance to graduate and/or undergraduate nursing students in classroom, clinical, lab practice, and/or simulation setting
  • Constructive feedback to graduate and/or undergraduate nursing student(s) on clinical expectations and performance using clinical evaluation tools
  • Clear communication with students on course and clinical expectations and performance with the course coordinator(s) and program director: student performance/performance issues with clinical facility or community partner: coordination of dates of clinical experience, roster of students, etc. between the clinical unit / facility and the graduate and/or undergraduate nursing program
  • Role model professional behavior for students
  • Participating in all required orientations team meetings for assigned courses
  • Adjuncts are assigned courses based on area of expertise
