About The Position

Thomas Jefferson University seeks to fill positions for adjunct clinical education instructors for our graduate level Physician Assistant programs across multiple campuses. Candidates must have expertise as a Physician Assistant, Physician, or Nurse Practitioner. The educational responsibilities of this position will include supporting the clinical education mission. Successful candidates must be able to thrive in a collaborative environment. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not necessary. The position will be a hybrid of remote/onsite work. Pre-employment background check is required. This adjunct position supports the clinical education mission of the Physician Assistant programs at East Falls, New Jersey and Center City. Based remotely, the adjunct will be able to serve the clinical education curriculum at any campus. Duties will include assistance in scheduling and evaluation of supervised clinical experiences, review/grading of required deliverables, screening of clinical site/student issues, and assistance in on site testing and instruction as needed.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be a certified Physician Assistant, Physician or Nurse-Practitioner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as basic computer literacy.
  • Candidates must have an earned master’s or doctoral degree
  • Earned degree as a Physician Assistant, Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse
  • Decisions are made within the limits of clearly established policies, procedures, or instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting clinical education scheduling, assignments and required materials
  • Reviewing and grading required deliverables from students/clinical sites
  • As able, assist with site visits and on-site testing/labs/instruction
  • Participate in student professional development activities during clinical phase
  • Perform initial review of clinical site/student issues-refer to clinical leadership as needed
