The Dental Assisting program is an ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation program. Curriculum includes basic dental sciences and didactic theory in current concepts of dentistry. Students gain required clinical experience in the Santa Fe College Dental Clinic, the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and other institutional and private facilities. Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of coursework in Dental Assisting. The Adjunct Assistant Professor must have the flexibility to teach courses during the day, evening, or online, as well as taught using other distance learning formats. Primary assignments consist of clinical dentistry, chair-side instruction, and laboratory instruction and evaluation. Additionally, the Adjunct Assistant Professor will support the ancillary program policies and procedures and assist lead faculty within Dental Programs. Part-time instructional service will be paid at a rate of $822 per semester credit hour and $32.88 per clock/contact hour.
