About The Position

Farmingdale State College is seeking adjunct faculty for the Architecture & Construction Management department. The available courses include CON350 - Introduction to Construction Engineering, CON351 - Construction Safety, CON355 - Const. Mgmt. Financial & Accounting Princ., CON357 - Quantity Surveying and Costing, CON401W - Construction Project Management, CON406 - Advanced Project Planning and Scheduling, and CON496 - Capstone Project. Interested candidates should submit their resume and indicate in their cover letter which courses they have taught or are interested in teaching, as well as their availability for day or evening classes. Candidates will be contacted when a position becomes available.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Construction Management and MS in Construction Management or related field, or
  • B. Arch. (5 year), or
  • M. Arch., or
  • B.S. Arch. and MS in related field, or
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, or
  • B.S. in Surveying or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Architectural Registration (RA) license, or
  • Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • 3 years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in construction project management and construction engineering as part of the Architectural Engineering Technology and Construction Management Engineering Technology programs.
  • Ensure course content aligns with learning objectives and student outcomes.
  • Participate in student-centered service activities and promote civic engagement with community partners.
