About The Position

We are currently recruiting for Art teachers for Advanced Teen and Adult Students to teach digital and/or traditional art techniques. Our classes run on weekdays and weekends and the possibility of extra subbing classes. Starting in Fall 2025. Our curriculum is created centrally so there is minimal prep required and all tools, equipment and supplies are provided. Each curriculum module is written around the work of a specific Contemporary artist. Our Digital teachers need to be experts in the Adobe Creative Suite on Mac: Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, After Effects and Procreate. Our Studio Art instructors need to be well versed in a wide variety of painting and drawing techniques. Many of our curriculum modules are multimedia based and may include elements of sculpture using air dry clay, collage, fabric arts etc. Most of the classes are curriculum based with the exception of Adult Art Shuffle Plus and Teen Portfolio Development which are both open studio classes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience teaching traditional studio art, digital art or digital design classes.
• BFA is the minimum qualification; an MFA or Masters in Art Education is preferred.
• Thoughtful communication skills.
• A passion for One River School's mission.
• Must live within easy commutable distance from work site location.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Anime and Manga style art.

Responsibilities

• Teach digital and/or traditional art techniques to advanced teen and adult students.

• Utilize provided tools, equipment, and supplies for teaching.
• Engage students in a variety of multimedia art forms.
• Participate in extra subbing classes as needed.
