About The Position

Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is seeking part-time Adjunct instructors for the accounting program. The role involves teaching courses that are 8 weeks long, meeting on campus 1 or 2 days a week, with a maximum of 12 hours of work per week. Instructors are responsible for creating a conducive learning environment and providing effective instruction and assessment based on common syllabi.

Requirements

• Possesses an earned master's degree or higher in accounting from a regionally accredited institution.
• Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours in accounting beyond the introductory level.
• Possesses an earned bachelor's degree in accounting from a regionally accredited institution with relevant professional certifications and experience.
• Possesses an earned bachelor's degree in a related business field with an active CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning.
• Show evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies and campus guidelines.
• Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
