About The Position

The Adjudicator position at SAVA involves providing support in adjudicating and investigating background checks for employment suitability. The role requires handling confidential and time-sensitive materials while ensuring excellent customer service and acting as a liaison among various stakeholders, including insurance companies, legal professionals, and government agencies.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of adjudicative and investigative support experience.
  • At least two years of experience as a Background Investigator, Criminal Investigator, Security Specialist, or Adjudicator with a federal agency or recognized private contractor.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated full-scope background investigation (Public Trust), including an FBI fingerprint check.
  • Completion of training from an approved or recognized training program.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of applicable fraud statutes at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Experience in conducting personnel security investigations for employment suitability.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate WALES/NCIC criminal background checks, DMV checks, credit checks, and checks through local law enforcement agencies.
  • Evaluate and adjudicate for employment suitability based on Employment Suitability Standards.
  • Conduct interviews and reconcile information regarding candidates' backgrounds.
  • Review polygraph, psychological, and medical reports, identifying discrepancies in the information provided by applicants.
  • Upload required documents to the case management system and assemble case jackets for eligible candidates.
  • Conduct criminal name checks for special events as directed.
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality when handling contract-related information.
  • Determine appropriate information or evidence required to reach a judgment and devise the best approach to obtain that information.
  • Gather background data, initiate credit and criminal checks, and draft reports on findings for investigative cases.
  • Prepare complex documents, memorandums, and reports summarizing evidence, analyses, investigative results, and recommendations.
