About The Position

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) Public Health Section Chief II is responsible for directing the operations of a public health program section, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and agency policies. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, and program evaluation to enhance public health services in Arkansas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in public health program operations, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to public health programs.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and resolve complex administrative and personnel problems.
• Ability to monitor the effectiveness of public health programs and services.
• Effective communication skills in oral and written formats.
• Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and produce recommendations.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of ERAVE preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify goals and objectives for programs consistent with state and agency priorities.
• Develop future strategic plans for programs and perform cost analyses for grants and programs.
• Forecast service needs and direct preparation of the section budget.
• Monitor and assess existing programs and determine work assignments for program coordinators and staff.
• Cultivate relationships with state, federal, and local officials and community members.
• Interpret the goals and policies of the ADH section program in meetings and workgroups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Salary range: $50,222.00 - $80,105.00
• Exempt position under FLSA guidelines.
