The GIS Address Data Coordinator will play a crucial role in the development, maintenance, and quality control of geographic information system (GIS) data associated with address points, street centerlines, and related datasets. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with data owners and various stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity. The coordinator will be responsible for integrating diverse data sources and supporting the organization's spatial data needs, which are essential for effective planning, analysis, decision-making, and operational response. In this role, the coordinator will oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of GIS data, ensuring that all datasets are accurate, consistent, and reliable. Implementing and maintaining data quality control procedures will be a key responsibility, along with performing regular audits and validations of GIS data to uphold high standards and compliance with industry best practices. The coordinator will also identify, integrate, and harmonize GIS data from various sources, addressing any discrepancies that may arise during the data integration process. Mapping and analysis are integral to this position, as the coordinator will create and update maps and spatial data visualizations for various applications. Conducting spatial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning will also be part of the job. Additionally, the coordinator will provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders regarding GIS data usage, tools, and methodologies, troubleshooting and resolving GIS-related issues as necessary. Documentation is another critical aspect of this role, as the coordinator will develop and maintain comprehensive records related to GIS data standards, processes, and methodologies, ensuring proper data lineage and provenance. Collaboration with other departments, including Public Safety, Planning, Tax, Transportation, and Public Utilities, will be essential to understand data needs and deliver effective GIS solutions. The coordinator will also be responsible for training staff on GIS tools and data management practices, promoting best practices in data handling and usage across the organization.
