The Addictions Counselor provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
Co-facilitates psychoeducational and psychotherapy groups, participates in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
Responsible for substance use disorder (SUD) group facilitation.
Community resource knowledge and collaboration (peer recovery support, community support groups).
Completes Individual touch base with patients and Information gathering.
Completes SUD screenings, SUD discharge planning, post-discharge calls, and Columbia-Suicide Rating Scale (C-SSRS).
Facilitates and organizes treatment planning and diagnostic assessments.
Collects urine drug screenings.
Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as required.
Required to have one of the following: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (required if employed in Virginia), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Masters in Counseling, Expressive Art or related field (required).
2 years in healthcare, social or human services setting (required).
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with training Supervision (LPCC-S) (preferred).
