Additional Sentence Auditor

State of North CarolinaRaleigh, NC
342d

About The Position

This technical/administrative position will audit judgment and commitments for new additional active prison sentences received for offenders already serving an active sentence. The complex work involves the review, analysis, judgment and decision making related to conducting audits of multiple additional judgment and commitments when there are a variety of mitigating and aggravating factors, convictions, that fall under different sentencing laws, extensive good time, gain time, and earned time credits along with disciplinary penalties, complicated jail credits and amended or modified judgments. This position will integrate the additional sentence with the existing sentence(s) to determine a revised overall sentence length and new release date. This requires researching sentencing laws, statutes, and amendments in effect at the time of conviction for each additional sentence(s) to ensure the accuracy of each judgment and commitment. This position may be required to audit new admission sentences, normally performed by a Program Coordinator I, when there is a heavy volume of new admission sentences.
