About The Position

The Addictions Counselor 2 Spanish Language position at the Bronx Addiction Treatment Center involves supervising a case management team while providing addiction services and supports. The role requires fluency in both Spanish and English, enabling the counselor to work effectively with diverse patient populations. The counselor will engage in clinical supervision, direct patient care, and administrative responsibilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the delivery of quality care.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a CASAC-Advanced Counselor or CASAC-Master Counselor in New York State.
  • One year of post-registration addictions counseling experience in a certified or licensed program.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish; a language proficiency test will be administered.
  • Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a case management team providing addiction services and supports.
  • Participate in the formulation, management, development, and oversight of services.
  • Work with both Spanish speaking and English speaking patients, running groups and lectures in both languages.
  • Provide full range of clinical and administrative supervision to subordinate staff; may act as shift supervisor.
  • Participate in clinical leadership and committees or work groups as assigned.
  • Monitor clinical record-keeping to ensure compliance with OASAS and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clinical consultation to subordinate staff, offering intervention or supervision when necessary.
  • Ensure individual and group counseling is provided to all clients assigned to subordinate case management team.
  • Complete required client and facility documentation adhering to applicable OASAS procedures and confidentiality regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with various agencies to ensure continuity of services for clients.
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients and may carry a caseload as a primary counselor.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy, educational presentations, and related tasks.
  • Serve as a senior member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, performing assessment, treatment planning, and clinical services.
  • Oversee specialized service components specific to the ATC, including co-occurring disorders and cultural specific services.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members to facilitate and coordinate client care.
  • Communicate shift change information to facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Serve as building supervisor in the absence of assigned ATC leadership.
  • Transport clients using agency vehicles.
  • Use a computer proficiently for patient documentation and communication.
