About The Position

Allina Health’s focus on creating more access to mental health & addiction services in our communities has fueled the opening of the Center for Mental Health & Addiction Services. This revolutionary, innovative hub is poised to transform the delivery of mental health and addiction care by providing a comprehensive, connected, and convenient location for patients and families. The Center will feature a variety of co-located partnerships to allow us to bring community-centered programs to expand the capacity and reach of our mental health and addiction services. Consider joining Allina as we embark on a community-centered model. This is a unique position where you are the subject matter expert as the only LADC on the team for in person integrated mental health and substance use partial hospitalization program. This role works as part of an interdisciplinary team with mental health professionals and practitioners.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Behavioral Sciences
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor - MN Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy required upon hire
  • Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences
  • Experience in a treatment program

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes critical thinking skills in the counseling process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Perform initial assessment and screen for admission to addiction services.
  • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment of patient.
  • Reassess patient and progress in treatment.
  • Crisis support and management.
  • Complete treatment plan per department process.
  • Documentation of patient, and family if appropriate, participation in development of treatment plan.
  • Review treatment plan with patient at regular intervals.
  • Initiate referrals to internal/external providers and agencies.
  • Coordinate discharge and transition planning.
  • Facilitate group and individual counseling, as identified by treatment plan.
  • Coordinate treatment with other community agencies/providers, when appropriate.
  • Provide patient and family education, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
