About The Position

Marion County Addiction Treatment Services is seeking an empathetic, motivated, and dedicated individual to add to our diverse and robust Certified Recovery Mentor team. Whether it is providing outreach in the community, responding to local medical establishments for overdose prevention calls, or supporting individuals in one of our many treatment programs, you will have the opportunity to utilize your lived experience to help the next individual toward a path of recovery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years in recovery from previous substance use dependence.
  • Must possess or obtain within ninety (90) days of hire, a current MHACBO CRM certification.
  • Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support persons served in county addiction treatment programs in accessing community health and social services.
  • Refer persons served to appropriate resources and advocate to obtain required services as necessary.
  • Provide information and education on wellness-related issues.
  • Build rapport with people served and identify their needs.
  • Conduct outreach to engage people who would benefit from addiction treatment services and supports.
  • Apply crisis prevention, management, and de-escalation skills.
  • Assist in removing barriers to success and transport persons served to medical appointments, food pantry sites, shelter assistance, benefits programs, etc.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with community partners.
  • Render mentoring services and supports both in the office and in community settings necessary to deliver addiction counseling services.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and community partners.
  • Assist persons served in accessing the resources they need to recover from substance abuse problems.
  • Provide case management and care coordination services.
  • Make timely referrals to other professionals, agencies, community programs, or appropriate resources and evaluate outcomes.
  • Document services rendered in a professional, clear, accurate, and complete manner.
  • Conduct drug testing including urine drug screens, oral swabs, and breathalyzers.
  • Provide peer-facilitated Life Skills and Recovery Skills groups for all clients served.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
