As an Addiction Counselor, you will provide individuals opportunity for recovery management so they can live and work independently in their home community. Location: ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location. A state fleet vehicle will be available for use when traveling to clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation

Responsibilities

  • Complete ASAM level of care screenings
  • Assist in developing integrated service plans
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in the office and in the community
  • Provide education and consult to families, community, interns, and residents
