About The Position

Marion County Health and Human Services, Addictions Treatment Services is seeking a compassionate and flexible temporary Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our dynamic team. This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care by providing group facilitation, completing clinical assessments, and offering coverage during staff absences. This position will provide flexible coverage across programs, working at two locations on a daily or weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of hire, a current MHACBO (Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon) CADC I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or higher.
  • The CADC I certification requires education, supervised experience hours and successful completion of a written examination.

Responsibilities

  • Perform counseling and case management functions for persons served and their families.
  • Prepare and maintain service records.
  • Provide addiction treatment services for all ATS treatment settings, including Salem outpatient, Medication Assisted Treatment, Woodburn outpatient and other service areas as assigned.
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate individual and group services, while creating and maintaining a caring and supportive environment.
  • Perform substance testing through the use of breathalyzers, urine and/or oral tests.
  • Conduct assessments and determine the level of care and placement most appropriate for the clients.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop service plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical records in accordance with federal, state, county, and treatment program expectations.
  • Coordinate services with community partners to provide holistic care.
  • Participate fully as a member of the Addiction Treatment team.
  • Collaborate with team members in the development, coordination, and presentations of community educational programs, outreach, and recovery activities.
  • Occasionally support individuals by accompanying them to appointments (i.e., court, DHS meetings, etc.).
  • Train newly hired staff and volunteers on essential job functions as related to Addiction Treatment Associate 1 duties.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
