About The Position
The Adapted Physical Education Instructor is responsible for providing individual, group, and consultative services for all assigned clients, focusing on health/fitness and social/recreational program activities or games. The instructor will plan sessions and related materials, conduct assessments, collect and record data, and support the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for all assigned clients. This position requires fulfilling daily contracted instructional hours while utilizing best practices and research-based methodologies to maximize student progress. The instructor will also provide training, supervision, and performance management for paraprofessionals, interns, and volunteers within the educational program. Maintaining fiscal stewardship of all department funds, equipment, and materials is also essential. The role involves creating and maintaining an effective environment for student learning, collaborating with leadership to implement the organization's mission and policies, and participating in professional development opportunities.
