The Autism Health & Fitness Center, operated by The Kennedy Collective, provides a safe, comfortable and structured environment for empowering individuals with autism to improve their level of physical fitness. Job purpose: The instructor will lead a group fitness class once a week for a duration of 4–5 weeks. The class will be held at a specialized gym that serves individuals with special needs. The focus is on providing a supportive, inclusive, and engaging fitness experience tailored to participants’ abilities. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with the program director to coordinate class scheduling, structure, and any required materials or equipment. Design and lead fitness sessions appropriate for the group, modifying activities as needed based on the individual needs, abilities, and development of the participants. Create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages participation and supports the students’ physical and emotional well-being. Assist with the smooth transition of students into and out of the class, working with staff as needed to ensure safety and support. Communicate any concerns, updates, or student progress to the program director. Maintain a high level of patience, adaptability, and professionalism while working with a diverse population with varying needs and abilities. Requirements Qualifications: Experience facilitating groups Experience working with special needs population Experience with athletic instruction Ability to build a rapport with students Ability to instruct at all fitness levels Either have or be prepared to become CPR certified There is room to grow with us!
