Essential Job Functions Inspect, adjust, and/or repair wheelchairs. Ensure the proper assembly, installation, implementation, and maintenance of all adaptive equipment. Utilize WorxHub to manage and track adaptive equipment maintenance/repair requests. Keep accurate records of equipment in use and ensure that billing is accurate. Conduct routine safety checks and adaptive equipment audits as needed to ensure health and safety of individuals served at all times. Deliver adaptive equipment in a timely and organized manner to all residential locations. Additional duties as directed by the Adaptive Equipment Coordinator, site Administrators, and/or Director of Nursing. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. At least two (2) years in a maintenance/repairs specific role required. Experience in Occupational or Physical Therapy and adaptive equipment strongly preferred. Prior experience in therapy as an aide preferred. Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred. Valid Driver’s License (issued from the state of residence), a minimum of 3 years driving experience, a driving approval from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is required. Ability to successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks – FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal History. Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities required in this role. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers and be willing to learn the software programs used by the State and other governing agencies (e.g. HCSIS, Enterprise Incident Management System) and internal systems (e.g. CareTracker, WorxHub, Point-Click-Care, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a variety of settings and environments and has a low exposure risk to adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. In the event that unanticipated aggressive behavior manifests from individuals served and de-escalation techniques fail, physical crisis intervention may be required. Must be available to work flexible hours and is expected to come in at various times depending upon work-load and business needs. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may face low exposure risks to blood borne pathogens, with a low exposure risk to hazardous materials.
