About The Position

As a Butcher/Meat Cutter you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat products in a retail setting of the grocery store. You are responsible for knowing how to process different cuts of meats with precision and ensuring quality and freshness of all meat products. This position will work across various stores across Connecticut.

Requirements

  • Preferred: One (1) year butchery experience or relevant experience
  • ServeSafe certification or comparable

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect meat deliveries to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards
  • Cut, trim and portion various cuts of meats, such as steaks, roasts, chops etc according to the customers request/preference and company standards
  • Grind, season and prepare ground meat products as needed
  • Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of meats to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
  • Monitor meat inventory levels and assist in placing orders to maintain sufficient stock
  • Operate and maintain meat processing equipment such as meat grinders, ban saws, slicers and other cutting tools
  • Ensuring that all equipment is clean, well maintained and in good working order
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines including but not limited to proper storage, handling and cleaning of equipment
  • Follow health and safety regulations to prevent cross contamination and ensure a hygienic work environment
  • Providing excellent customer service in timely manner with professionalism to ensure continued customer satisfaction
  • Providing recommendations regarding meat selection, cooking recommendations as well as fulfilling special requests
  • Adhere to all company safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
