About The Position

About the role and Program Supporting the Disney Advertising organization within Entertainment and Sports, the Data & Measurement Science team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas: Creating and optimizing audience segmentation models that enable us to reach specific audiences based on brand affinities, app behavior, and video viewership among other things Extracting audience insights that highlights opportunities to grow audiences and drive decision making Analyzing the performance of audiences in real-world campaigns and optimizing audience usage and composition We’re looking for an intellectually curious and analytical Advanced Analytics intern to join the Disney Advertising Data & Measurement Science Team. As an Advanced Analytics intern, you will be working with the team to drive innovation and optimization across Disney Advertising’s portfolio of offerings using data. The program dates for this role are June 8th through August 14th.

  • Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York City area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the Advertising Sales industry
  • Previous experience working in media and entertainment (academic or internship)
  • Knowledge of Disney’s multimedia properties and affinity for The Walt Disney Company
  • Junior or Senior year preferred
  • Major in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related quantitative field
  • Course or project-based experience using analytical software to manipulate data (SQL, R, Python, SAS, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of the advertising sales industry and the specific datasets that the Advanced Analytics team utilizes to develop analyses and analytical products.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends in user behavior and key characteristics that can be leveraged to define audience segments and identify new opportunities for advertisers.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis using SQL, Tableau, and other tools to support business requests and projects for the Sales team.
  • Document best practices, processes, and other initiatives as specified to scale the work from ad hoc to enterprise.
  • Collaborate with full-time analysts to gain perspective on different aspects of day-to-day projects and responsibilities.
